After demonstrating relatively stable figures between 2015 and 2019, the number of employees in the Hungarian tourism sector dropped to approximately 317 thousand in 2020. In 2022, the number of people employed in the passenger transportation and food and beverage serving activities reached nearly 88 thousand and 118 thousand, respectively.
