According to data, between 2019 and 2020, the value added and employment of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the non-financial business sector in Italy experienced opposite trends. Employment in SMEs, in fact, increased by 2.6 percent, while the value added decreased by 11.5 percent between 2019 and 2020.
