Between 2025 and 2029, it is forecast that China will be the leading country in terms of new solar PV (photovoltaic) capacity installations, with a total of 2.4 terawatts on a high scenario and 1.7 terawatts on a low scenario. The United States is expected to install 320 gigawatts of solar PV capacity by 2029 on a high scenario. In 2024, there were almost 600 gigawatts worth of new PV capacity installed worldwide.
