Australian rare earths production amounted to an estimated 13,000 metric tons of rare-earth oxide in 2024. Over the past decade, Australia's production of rare earths has seen an overall increase despite some fluctuation. Australia was the world's fourth-largest rare earths producing country in 2024. 

Rare earths include the following elements: cerium (Ce), dysprosium (Dy), erbium (Er), europium (Eu), gadolinium (Gd), holmium (Ho), lanthanum (La), lutetium (Lu), neodymium (Nd), praseodymium (Pr), promethium (Pm), samarium (Sm), scandium (Sc), terbium (Tb), thulium (Tm), ytterbium (Yb), and yttrium (Y).
