Hotel room night demand in the Shanghai Pudong Expo area in China 2013-2018
In 2018, the estimated demand for the night rooms in the seven major upper-upscale and upper-midscale hotels in the Shanghai Pudong Expo area in China reached 2,184. There were 2,960 room nights available in these seven hotels. In 2014, the Shanghai Free Trade Zone was established to stimulate the in-house meeting demand in the Expo area. A year later, the area's lodging and MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) demand was further driven by the opening of the National Exhibition and Convention Center.
