Elderly people are overall less critical than other age groups when it comes to the Brazilian government's management of illegal deforestation in the Amazon. A survey conducted in August of 2019 revealed that 91 percent of Brazilian respondents between the ages of 16 and 54 strongly agreed with the statement "Illegal deforestation in the Amazon is worrying", whereas only 81 percent of respondents aged 55 or older answered the same.
