By the end of 2023, there were 61,564 enterprises in Guangdong's Pearl River Delta in total, among which 35,242 belonged to heavy industry. Adding Hong Kong and Macau, the Pearl River Delta is also called Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area. This is one of the most economically active regions in China.
