By the end of 2023, there were 54,672 small and micro enterprises in Guangdong's Pearl River Delta, generating a total annual revenue of around 5.13 trillion yuan. Adding Hong Kong and Macau, the Pearl River Delta is also called Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area. This is one of the most economically active regions in China.
