According to a survey on substance use in India between December 2017 and October 2018, the states with highest prevalence of alcohol use were Chhattisgarh at **** percent, Tripura with **** percent and Punjab at **** percent. Additionally, it was observed that in all three of these states, more than half of the male population were regular users of alcohol.
