In 2018, many of Swedish respondents found that investing money in funds was the best way for long-term saving (for five years or more). This was particularly the case for respondents between 34 to 50 years (40 percent) and respondents between 51 and 64 years (38 percent). Furthermore, 21 percent of the respondents in the youngest age group believed that depositing money into a savings account was the best way for saving money over a longer period of time. During this year, saving money on long-term via treasury bonds was deemed the least effective savings method.
