Nutrition labels most commonly checked by consumers Malaysia 2018
According to a survey in Malaysia conducted in December 2018, 59 percent of respondents stated that they checked the nutrition information before purchasing any food products or beverages. By comparison, 38 percent of respondents claimed to check for a Healthier Choice logo before purchasing a food or drink product. Malaysia has one of the highest rates of obesity in Asia, and the government has taken measures to curb this problem such as introducing a sugar tax in 2019.
