Over the observed period, the percentage of road transport has been subject to fluctuation. According to Eurostat, road transport is collected based on all movements of vehicles registered in the reporting country and thus further methodological developments and computations were needed to be done by Eurostat for estimating road transport according to the 'territoriality principle'.
