Capacity of import pipelines for natural gas and LNG in Italy 2024
Gas imports reached Italy mainly through two pipelines: the Rogatec-Gorizia gas pipeline and the Trans-Mediterranean (TransMed) gas pipeline. In 2024, they had a capacity of 53 and 34 billion standard cubic meters, respectively. These pipelines brought gas from Eastern Europe and Algeria, which was the main supplier of natural gas to Italy.
The main LNG regasification center was the Adriatic LNG terminal offshore Caverzere.
