Number of public charging stations in Poland 2022-2024
The number of charging stations in Poland has increased rapidly recently. For comparison, in 2014, there were only 119 public charging stations for electric cars, but by November 2023, less than ten years later, this number had already grown to nearly 3,300. The number of stations has steadily increased over time.
Usage of charging stations
While charging stations increased, only 30 percent of Polish electric car owners used such stations daily in 2022. Ten percent charged their car only a few times a month. In 2024, most charging stations in Poland were owned by GreenWay Polska and Orlen Charge, holding 19.4 percent and 19.2 percent of the market share, respectively.
Electric cars in Poland
By 2023, Poland's number of battery-electric (BEV) cars had reached nearly 57,000. It was expected to rise to more than 800,000 by 2030, while plug-in hybrid (PHEV) cars were projected to grow from 4,600 to almost 169,000. Nevertheless, almost half of Poles did not plan to buy an electric car in 2024. Twenty-eight percent each planned to buy a used or new electric car.
