In Belgium, the use of the IUD (Intrauterine contraceptive device) by sexually active women in 2018 was higher in older age groups than the younger ones. For instance, around ten percent of women aged 15 to 24 used such a contraceptive device, whereas over 30 percent of women aged over 35 used an IUD in 2018.
