Revenue of restaurants and cafés in Norway 2007-2022

The revenue of restaurants and cafés in Norway increased constantly during recent years, reaching approximately 52.3 billion Norwegian kroner in 2022. By comparison, that same year, the revenue generated by pubs amounted to nearly 2.2 billion Norwegian kroner.

Restaurant group: Umoe Restaurants AS

Umoe Restaurants AS is one of Scandinavia's leading restaurant groups with self-owned and franchise restaurants in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. The Norwegian company operates among others Burger King, Peppes Pizza, TGI Friday's, Starbucks, Blender and Leon chains. Its operating income fluctuated strongly in the years from 2008 to 2018, reaching its peak by the end of this period with almost 70 million Norwegian kroner.  

 Peppes Pizza AS 

The Norwegian pizza chain Peppes Pizza AS serves American style pizza and is the largest pizza restaurant chain in Scandinavia. Recently, Peppes Pizza also offers frozen pizza in retail stores. As of 2015, the company generated by far its highest profit, reaching roughly 77.7 million Norwegian kroner. In the following years, the profit decreased strongly and amounted to around 30.3 million Norwegian kroner in 2018.
