In 2024, over 7.8 thousand hybrid electric variants of the Hyundai Kona compact SUV were sold in South Korea. That year, Hyundai introduced the second-generation Kona to the domestic market. However, overall sales declined compared to the previous year. The electric variant's sales began in May 2018, with exports launching three months before that. The hybrid variant was first sold in August 2019. The Kona is also available with gasoline or diesel engines.
