A majority of the urban dwellers, at about ** percent, across India traveled less than ten kilometers for work and education according to the survey. On average, it took the respondents around ** minutes to travel up to ten kilometers in the urban cities across the south Asian country. Walking was the most preferred mode of transportation by urban dwellers, followed by personal motorbike.
Respondents were from six metro cities, 16 tier one cities and 38 tier two cities.

Metro - population of over seven million
Tier one - population between 2 million and 7 million
Tier two - population between 0.1 million and 2 million
