Cereal production in Romania has recorded an overall increase up to 2018 and then a fall followed. The most significant decrease was related to the production of maize grain, which decreased from 18.66 million tons in 2018 to 8.74 million tons in 2023. Meanwhile the production of barley and two-row barley reached for the first time, in the given period, roughly two million metric tons.
