In 2023, German police recorded five sex killings. Numbers fluctuated during the specified time period, although recent figures were a noticeable decrease compared to the 1990s.

Statistics are only recorded when they are handed over to the public prosecutor's office (initial statistics).

The data for the years up to 2020 were taken from the publication Polizeiliche Kriminalstatistik (PKS) 2021

Since 1999, this offense has been called “murder in connection with sexual offenses”.
