The party of the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, Fidesz, had the highest support of any populist party in Europe, with ** percent of Hungarian respondents to a 2019 survey stating they view of the party favorably. The German populist party Alternative for Germany had the lowest support, with only ** percent of German respondents holding a favorable view.
* Respondents were asked about populist parties in their own country.
** The Five Star Movement is ostensibly neither a left nor right wing party, however their anti-immigration stance and cooperation with right-wing populist parties has led many to view them as being more on the right of the political specturm.
