The results of a survey showed most concern for unavailability of essential items such as groceries and medicine as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in India in April 2020. The leading concerns were related to contracting the virus and being able to access healthcare, followed by the impact on mental health.
A lockdown was enforced on March 25, 2020 for 21 days, the largest in the world, restricting 1.3 billion people, now extended until May 3, 2020.
