Meat production volume in China 2024, by type
In 2024, the meat industry in China produced around 96.63 million metric tons of pork, poultry, beef, and mutton/lamb. Pork accounted for around 60 percent of the output, approximately 57 million metric tons, that year. Pork production has recovered from the effects of the swine fever, which had limited production volume to only around 43 and 41 million metric tons in 2019 and 2020 respectively.
