With roughly 36.3 thousand unemployment registrations as of December 13, 2020, employees working in travel agencies, cleaning, and related services accounted for the highest number of unemployed people after the outbreak of COVID-19 in Denmark. The trade sector was also heavily affected, counting over 32 thousand dismissals. Denmark removed most of its COVID-19 restrictions in September 2021.
