As a consequence of COVID-19, Russia's major natural gas producer Gazprom expected its export volume of that fossil fuel to non-CIS European countries to decrease by approximately 17 percent in 2020 relative to the previous year. The highest non-CIS gas exports of the company were recorded in 2018 at nearly 201 billion cubic meters.
