Main reasons for not bulk buying during COVID-19 pandemic Thailand 2020, by gender

According to a survey by Rakuten Insight in April 2020, 49 percent of Thai female respondents stated that they did not bulk-buy as they trusted that there would be enough supplies in the supermarket during the COVID-19 pandemic. The survey also explored reasons for in-bulk purchases and it revealed that 45 percent of Thai respondents engaged in bulk-buying as they feared they might be quarantined soon and would not be able to buy groceries.

The survey was conducted among 2,840 female and 2,429 male respondents. Other surveyed countries included China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Vietnam.
