From January to April 2020, the weekly duration of viewing content on iQiyi across Southeast Asia increased dramatically, in which viewing durations increased by 500 percent. In comparison, weekly viewing durations of Netflix also experienced a growth in Southeast Asia in 2020, in which the viewing durations increased by 115 percent. The increased viewing times were during the lockdown period, caused by the outbreak of the coronavirus.
