Neobank apps: quarterly downloads in the UK 2020-2021

Since coming onto the UK banking scene, a number of digital, app-only banks have made huge waves in attracting customers. During the fourth quarter of 2021, London-based neobank app Revolut was downloaded almost 605 thousand times from users in the United Kingdom across iOS and Google Play. One of the main reasons fueling the success of digital-based challenger banks has been the continued backing by investors. As of August 2021, both the Berlin-based N26 and the London born Monzo have received over half a billion U.S. dollars in funding.
