Share of Italians interested in soccer in 2020, by macro-region
According to a survey from 2020, most soccer enthusiasts in Italy came from the Center and the South. Data show that 18 percent of respondents coming from either the center or the south of Italy claimed to watch matches or read football news daily or almost every day. On the other hand, one in two interviewees from the North-East was not interested in this sport.
