According to a 2024 survey, about 46 percent of South Korean respondents in their 30s stated that they supported the legalization of same-sex marriages. On average, the share of respondents in South Korea agreeing to legalizing same-sex marriages steadily increase since 2001. In February 2023, a South Korean court ruled that same-sex couples can receive national health spousal coverage like different-sex couples for the first time.
