Out of the 46 thousand tenders issued, only over 12 thousand projects were allocated from the renewable energy auctions in India during 2019. This was a decrease in projects from the previous year. Developer's increased perception of risk such as higher cost of modules owing to the imposed trade duties, lack of clarity on new rules, delay in acquiring lands and grid connectivity were the major reasons behind this slowdown.
