Between 2014 and 2018, Siemens boasted a market share of over one-third in Europe’s train signaling and control technology segment. Other companies such as Thales, Alstom, and Hitachi Rail competed for second, with little more than two percent separating each of them when it came to their market share of 17, 15, and 13 percent, respectively.
