In 2023, there were 361 local authorities in the United Kingdom, all of which provided a kerbside collection service that included plastic bottles. Between 2010 and 2023, the share of UK local authorities collecting plastic pots, tubs, and trays at kerbsides increased from 28 percent to 89 percent. Meanwhile, the share of local authorities collecting plastic film has stagnated in recent years, reported at 14 percent in 2023.
