In a survey from February 2020, house maintenance was the most popular DIY activity Italians undertook when spending time at home. However, this was more popular among males than females. Moreover, some 36 percent of female respondents declared to spend time on gardening.
The survey question was phrased by the source as follows: "Quali delle seguenti attività ti capita di fare quando trascorri del tempo a casa? Seleziona tutte le risposte che ritieni opportune."
