Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, many business events could not take place. In Italy, almost 60 percent of exhibition centers estimated that their turnover will decrease by over 75 percent in 2020, compared to 2019. The crisis did not spare convention centers and congress hotels, which expected shrinking turnover as of 2020.
