In 2023, 15 countries accounted for approximately 97.5 percent of the world's platinum exports based on value. South Africa accounted for the largest value-based share of global platinum exports in 2023, with some 21.4 percent of the total export value. 

Global platinum exports amounted to a total value of 50.2 billion U.S. dollars in 2023.
