The purchase of fresh fish at the supermarket was a popular shopping habit among Italians, a survey from September 2020 revealed. However, data showed regional differences. ** percent of consumers living in the Islands (Sicily, Sardinia) used to purchase fresh fish, while only ** percent of consumers living in the other southern regions reported to do the same.
The survey question was phrased by the source as follows: "Nel corso degli ultimi 12 mesi ti è capitato di acquistare pesce fresco al supermercato? Seleziona una sola risposta."
