In 2021, the production of tomatoes in Tunisia was forecast at around 1.4 million metric tons, without registering significant changes compared to the previous year. In the period examined, tomato production in the country peaked at over 1.5 million metric tons in 2019. Tomatoes constitute a significant portion of the agricultural outputs in Tunisia. A total land area of 23 thousand hectares was used for the cultivation of tomatoes in the crop year 2019/2020.
