Share of French people renting clothes, home textiles or shoes in France 2018, by age

Buying new is not necessarily the only solution when it comes to clothing, home textiles and footwear items. One can also consider second-hand purchase, barter, or rental. However, it seems that this last option is not very popular among the French. In a survey conducted in 2018, only 17 percent of the respondents between the ages of 15 and 29 reported using it. This proportion was even lower among seniors, who were only seven percent to use rentals.
