YoY growth in new App Store app releases in the U.S. 2020, by category

From March to September 2020, the food & drink category on Apple App Store in the United States underwent a 70 percent ear-over-year growth in new app releases. Additionally, the shopping app category had 43 percent year-over-year growth in the same time period. The growth in different app categories in the U.S. was due to the coronavirus pandemic which forced many local companies to take their business online.
