Number of heads of livestock in Tunisia 2014-2018, by type

In 2018, the total livestock population of Tunisia corresponded to approximately 8,260 thousand head, decreasing by over 400 thousand compared to 2014. In the given period, the sheep population represented the largest part of Tunisian livestock, corresponding to nearly 80 percent of the total. Goats and cattle instead represented around 14 percent and seven percent of the livestock, respectively.
