Russians in the North Caucasian Federal District that were born in 2022 had the highest average life expectancy among other areas of the country, at 75.78 years. The lowest expected life span was recorded in the Far Eastern Federal District, where a person born in 2022 could live for 69.54 years on average.
Across the country, life expectancy at birth continuously increased over the past 15 years, but declined in 2020 and 2021. To compare, in 2005, it was measured at approximately 65.4 years.
