According to a survey conducted in April 2020, about 48.53 percent of male workers surveyed in Bali, Indonesia, had less income since the COVID-19 pandemic happened. In comparison, around 45 percent of the female respondents experienced the same, slightly less than the male respondents.
The COVID-19 pandemic has badly affected the tourism industry, as global travel had ground to a halt in order to curb the spread of the virus. Until January 14, 2021, all Indonesian borders would remain closed to foreign visitors. The Indonesian island heavily relies on tourism and its economy has suffered as a result.
