Types of Internet activities that French children carry out autonomously 2020, by age

With the globalization as well as the sanitary measures greatly influencing leisure activities of children in France in 2020, the source wanted to assess the rate to which they carried out various Internet activities on their own, without the influence, help or supervision of their parents. Thus, the quasi-totality of the sample aged 15 to 17 used the Internet on their own, which was about 12 percent more than for children aged 10 to 14. The smallest significant difference between the two age groups was for playing video games online, for which more than 60 percent of respondents of both age groups reported doing autonomously online. However, when the parents of those children were asked the same question, the reports were generally less, with the exception of online shopping (for which parents thought they were doing more of it, compared to the statement of the children).
