Geographical distribution of mobile internet users in China 2024

In China, mobile internet usage in less developed cities and towns has been slowly catching up. In December 2024, over 52 percent of mobile internet users lived in tier three cities and below in the country. The short video app Kuaishou, which focuses on grassroots life content, has become particularly popular among Chinese rural smartphone users.
