French children awareness about the privacy of their social media account(s) 2020

When French children between the ages of 10 and 17 were asked if they knew about the privacy setting of their social media account(s), the majority of children aged 10 to 14 and 15 to 17 reported having a private account. However, about 15 to 20 percent of children of all ages knew that it was set publicly, whereas the younger generation (18 percent) did not know if it was public or private. When the parents of children were asked the same question, most of the parents knew that it was set to private, for all children.
