
Government expenditure in subsidies in Libya 2020, by type
In 2020, the Libyan government allocated 5.6 billion Libyan dinars (around 1.2 billion U.S. dollars) to subsidies. The largest part of expenditure were fuel subsidies, which amounted to 3.4 billion Libyan dinars (740 million U.S. dollars). Moreover, the government subsidized medical services, electricity, public lighting, public services, and water and sanitation.
