The United States consumes more liquid fuels than any other major region in the world. In April 2025, petroleum and other liquids consumption stood at 20.13 million barrels per day. This compared with 16.92 million barrels per day consumed in China. Global liquid fuel consumption is projected to reach 104.3 million barrels per day by September 2025.
