Number of successful API calls made using ASPSPs open banking APIs in UK 2018-2025

The number of successful API (Application Programming Interface) calls made by third-party providers (TPPs) using ASPSP (Account Servicing Payment Service Providers) open banking APIs in the United Kingdom increased significantly over a six-year period. As of June 2018, there were approximately 1.9 million monthly API calls. By February 2025, this figure had grown to over 1.7 billion successful monthly calls, representing a substantial increase in open banking adoption and usage.
