Distribution of occupational pensioners in Italy 2019, by profession
As of 2019, qualified employees made up the highest group of pensioners in Italy. That year, 43.9 percent of all pensioners were classified as qualified employees. Workmen held the second largest share, with 30.9 percent of the total. In total, in Italy there are over 1.6 million pensioners, including not only occupational pensioners but also old-age, work injury, retirement, disability, and similar pensioners.
